In the 16th
century the Camera Obscura was refined by inserting a telescope lens into an
enlarged hole giving a brighter and sharper image.
In 1727 the first photo sensitive compound was discovered by Professor J.
Schulze. He found that a mixture of chalk, nitric acid and silver caused
darkening on the side of the flask exposed to sunlight.
It took almost another one hundred years until 1816 until Nicephore
Niepce combined the use of the Camera Obscura and
photo sensitive paper and a further 11 years until he had created a permanent
image.
Mark Crawford Photography was established in Sydney in 1976, supplying professional
photographic services to commerce and industry. Using modern methods and
techniques, a long way removed from these early efforts, I am able to offer a
reliable, quick and high quality service in all photographic areas.
